Trump’s “Impeachment” -a Step Back from the Insanity in the Pursuit of Clarity

As the media fills the airwaves with the latest “bombshell” regarding the supposed “impeachment” of Donald Trump, it might behoove all of us to step back from the daily minutiae of wishful thinking on their part in pursuit of a greater clarity as to what is really going on.

Sure, the Democrats in the House of Representatives are traveling down “Impeachment Avenue,” to the fullest extent that they can. That said, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi(D-CA) realizes that in the autumn prior to an election year, impeaching a sitting president who seeks re-election amounts to nothing more than an attempt to cast mud on his prospects of being re-elected. The American public, more specifically the American electorate, values fairness in any fight- be it boxing, bashing or baseball, and recoils at the idea that a House Speaker (Pelosi) can achieve an actual Senate referral of impeachment without gathering substantial bi-partisan and overwhelming support for such a drastic undertaking.

In the two hundred and thirty odd years since George Washington took the oath of office, there have only been three such referrals, and the second of these three (Nixon) resulted in the president’s resignation prior to the Senate’s undertaking. In each of these three proceedings, substantial bi-partisan support for impeachment “legitimized” each referral. Based on last week’s House vote to codify the existing, one-sided investigation- a vote which lacked even a single Republican vote- Nancy is nowhere near taking an actual floor vote on an impeachment referral to a Senate held by a Republican majority. Despite his own wet dream that he is somehow still relevant, by favoring impeachment of his party’s president, there are simply not enough NeverTrump/Anti-Trump Republicans like Mitt Romney who are apt to join a unified Democrat caucus in a vote to convict Donald Trump in a Senate trial.

Nary a person in either house, save for the wild-eyed radicals of “the squad” (Ocasio-Cortez D-NY, Omar D-MN, Pressley D-MA and Tlaib D-MI), thinks that removing Trump prior to next fall’s election will happen. There’s not a national correspondent who can honestly predict Trump’s removal with a straight face, despite the fact that both Democrat legislators and the media with whom they collude to purport a lie to the American public, desperately would wish it to be so.

So, what is really going on here?

Sure, there are a lot of sour grapes on the political left that their candidate lost to the one man they hate so very much. Democrat hatred of the president is palpable to the point of irrationality, but this hatred has more to do with Trump’s personality than with his policies. While his predecessor Barack Obama was loquacious, uplifting and almost inspirational in communicating his lies to the American people, Donald Trump is brutally honest, and sometimes crude, in delivering to Americans the truth- despite claims to the contrary by a biased and slanted press. In an alternate universe where Trump would have run as a Democrat, all of these accusations of racism, sexism, misogyny, xenophobia and homophobia on his part, and on the part of his voters, would evaporate into thin air, as the forty-fifth president enjoyed all of their good graces prior to his June 2015 entry into the race, and back when he was writing checks to their campaigns.

Yet this is only a partial explanation.

The preponderant and unspoken truth about the state of national politics today is that a civil war is being thrust upon the American people by a Democrat party and a media intent on dividing the country to an extent not seen since the last civil war one hundred sixty years ago. This second civil war will not be based on geography and comparative economies as was the case in the 1860s, but rather on ideology as to the eternal question of the proper role of the state. Because the media has done a tragically-effective job in widening the philosophical breach, to the extent that the “middle” exists no more, domestic conflict aggravated to the point of no return is the price Democrats and the media are willing to pay in order to achieve a political revolution to transform the United States into a socialist, Soviet-style government.  If you think that the mention of a second civil war based on ideology is a trifle far-fetched, a recent survey found that a whopping 67 percent- that’s two out of three Americans- believe we are headed to towards a second civil war. The Democrats and their allies in the media know, all-too-well that such an endeavor to radically transform the country cannot win at the ballot box, so they seek to force it on us, instead, through subterfuge and deep-state sabotage of the current administration. In their attempts to bring down a duly elected president, by whatever means necessary, what they are really doing is attempting to overturn the results of the last election in hopes that the next election will overturn these results. Make Trump so distasteful and smeared with the scourge of impeachment, that the voting public will turn against him and elect any Democrat, instead.

Yet, therein lies the problem.

The bi-coastal embrace of all things anti-Trump is a stance not favored in America’s heartland. These people who ply their trades with hard work and devotion to the family have grown to mistrust politicians from both parties, because hard-working people don’t like to be lied to- by Democrats who seek to destroy the values they hold dear, and by Republicans who talk a good game of government reform and national renewal but, alas, fail to deliver on the same. Despite what the media and the Democrats would have us believe, Trump supporters are neither racist nor sexist nor misogynistic nor xenophobic nor homophobic. They just want to clean up a corrupt government and have thus entrusted their support to the one American who was rich enough and savvy enough and gutsy enough to take down a decades-old corrupt establishment and drain the swamp in which the deep state dwells. They go to church, stand for the national anthem, live by the code of self-sufficiency, respect both the language and the meaning of the Constitution and cherish the independence and freedom that is the basis of what it is to be an American…

…and this is something that the ivied walls of academia, the bustling newsrooms of the media, the hallowed halls of Congress, the deep-state Washington insiders who remain in place by virtue of tenure and the bloated bureaucracy that this creates will never, ever understand…and this is also the key to Trump’s inevitable  re-election.
