Predictions Predicated on Prevarication in a Fantasy World of Wishful Thinking

Three weeks from today, on 7 November 2018, Americans will wake up to find that the mainstream media and all of the so-called “experts” got it all wrong, once again.

For many months, we have been bombarded with prognostications that the House of Representatives will flip to Democrat control, and that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will once again resume her position as Speaker of the House.

Don’t believe it…not even for a second.

The prediction of a House overturn is largely based in wishful thinking on the part of pundits and also on historical precedence that, in a mid-term election year, the party which holds the White House will lose enough seats to flip the House (and sometimes the Senate) to the party in opposition.

Remember it was these same pundits who told us there was absolutely no way that then-candidate Donald Trump could garner enough electoral votes to win the White House in the face of an overwhelming onslaught by Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton. At one point, they even said Trump’s quest for the Republican nomination was something short of a farcical stunt not to be taken seriously on its face. Time and time, again, Trump defied the experts and won primary after primary, caucus after caucus, and still they refused to take him seriously.

But then, the unthinkable happened and “the Donald” won it all, sending pollsters and pundits alike into a furious frenzy for his having proved them all wrong. Since nothing can infuriate an “expert” like proving the expert wrong, that in and of itself goes a long way into explaining why they have been calling into question the legitimacy of his election, ever since.

In the two years since the President was elected, the economy has improved immensely by any and all measures, the threat of war on the Korean peninsula has largely been abated, two Supreme Court justices have been seated, ISIS has been largely destroyed and the most unpopular aspect of ObamaCare (the individual mandate) has been eliminated. Personal and individual income tax rates have been reduced, scores of restrictive regulations have been removed and have thus spurred business activity and hiring levels to all-time highs, with unemployment hitting record lows, in the process. Just because the media is fixated on the fiction of Russian collusion and doesn’t want to report on all of the many positives which have taken place in the wake of Trump’s election and presidency, doesn’t mean that the voting public is not fully aware that Trump’s presidency has largely improved their lots in life. None of these accomplishments, though promised by the new President during his campaign, were ever thought to be possible, and yet no one can reasonably deny the reality that they have indeed taken place.

Throw in the despicable way Judge Brett Kavanaugh was treated by Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Oversight Committee, and the promise of House Democrats to launch impeachment proceedings against both he and the President, should they regain majority status in the House of Representatives, and we are supposed to believe that the voting public will put these clowns back in power?

Yeah, right…
