The Real Truth about Russian Interference in the 2016 Election

With the passage of enough time, the truth has a tendency to come out and it often bites one right where he sits. So goes the obsession of Democrats and their quixotic quest to find guilt with Donald Trump concerning Russian interference in the 2016 election.

So convinced in their wee little minds that the Trump campaign must have colluded with Vladimir Putin to deny Hillary Clinton the presidency, that all of the eggs they have thrown at the president have now landed back in their own faces. As it turns out, the Russian interference in the 2016 election was the fault of…yes, Barack Obama.

It is recalled that it was Barack Obama who infamously said to then-president of the Russian Federation, Dmitri Medvedev, “Tell Vladimir (Putin) that I will have more flexibility after the election,” referring to Obama’s own re-election campaign. The promise to Putin, caught on a “hot mic” shortly before the 2012 election, evidently referred to Obama’s reluctance to take action against Russia for all the many bad things that they were up to…Syria, Ukraine, their ties to Iran and, as it now seems, interference in the presidential election of 2016.

With regards to the latter, it really doesn’t matter that it was the Democratic National Committee whose confidential e-mails were hacked. The Russians tried to do the same thing to the Republican National Committee, but the Republicans had a better firewall than the Democrats and the Russians failed to hack into the GOP. When the FBI asked the DNC to turn over their own server, they refused to do so in order to conceal their own collusion with Hillary Clinton’s campaign against Bernie Sanders.

Apparently, Barack Obama knew about such interference as early as the late summer of 2016 and, during a meeting with Putin in September of that year, told him to “knock it off.” Yet, the president failed to reveal these shenanigans to either the Clinton or the Trump campaigns because he did not want to rock the boat in an election which he was certain that Hillary would win.

Why else would Obama say nothing and do nothing when he found out about the tampering?

Obama publicly revealed the tampering only after Trump won the upset victory, and put into motion a misinformation campaign to lay the blame on Trump and his campaign. It was Obama and his administration who colluded with the FBI, his Democrat caucus in Congress, their allies in the mainstream media and NeverTrump Republicans to try and blame Trump and his associates, but alas…

…there was, and is, no evidence that Trump and his campaign did any such thing.

Not deterred by the lack of such evidence, former FBI Director James Comey repeatedly leaked information to the media in an effort to cast aspersions on Trump, all in an effort to have an independent counsel named to explore the matter further. In the absence of any evidence to support Trump’s involvement, his mentor Robert Mueller, who was thus selected as that independent counsel, has now appointed a cadre of high profile attorneys, all of whom are Clinton supporters including one who successfully fought FOIA requests for documents related to the Clinton Foundation and Hillary Clinton’s illegal use of a private server while Secretary of State. Their goal is to dig up enough dirt on Donald Trump to bring about his impeachment, fulfilling the desire of Democrats, NeverTrump Republicans (they’re the ones who keep insisting that Comey and Mueller are beyond partisan reproach), the mainstream media, and “Deep State” of Obama and Clinton loyalists throughout the federal government.

No doubt, all of these nefarious forces will surely and eventually find something, anything to upend the result of last year’s presidential election, and the real cost to the nation will be the survival of representative democracy in the United States.

Yet in the long run, history- real history will bear witness to the extreme amount of corruption within the Obama administration, the Clintons, the mainstream media and the “Deep State” that exists within the federal government because the truth, in the end, always comes out.

What Must End…NOW

On Wednesday morning, a radical leftist and former campaign worker for Senator Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) presidential campaign, one James T. Hodgkinson of Belleville, IL, open-fired on twenty-five Republican House and Senate members as they were engaged in an early morning baseball practice in Alexandria, VA. The Republicans were in the midst of their final practice for the annual Republican vs Democrat benefit baseball game, slated for Thursday night at Nationals Park in Washington DC. After ascertaining from Rep Jeff Duncan (R-SC) which party was engaged in practice, Hodgkinson returned to the ballfield with a semi-automatic rifle and opened fire, severely wounding the House Republican Whip, Steve Scalise (R-LA), two Capitol police officers who were part of Scalise’s security detail and a congressional aide. After firing more than fifty rounds at the defenseless amateur ball players, Hodgkinson was fatally wounded by shots fired by Capitol police officers in a gun battle which then took place.  Had Scalise not been present, there would have been no security, and an outright massacre would have ensued as a result. The fact that the only fatality was that of the assailant is a miracle, considering all that took place. This attack was only the latest in what has become a string of increasing violence, perpetrated by the radical left, in the wake of Donald Trump’s election.

Predictably, Virginia’s Democrat governor, Terry McAuliffe- a one-time Clinton aide and former head of the Democratic National Committee, seized on the opportunity to call for stricter gun control, in a public statement at the very scene of the assault, later that morning. In true “Clintonista” fashion (“never waste an opportunity to exploit a tragedy,”) McAuliffe thus followed in the footsteps of the late Saul Alinsky in his book, Rules for Radicals. At very least, Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), minority leaders in their respective chambers, had the decency not to tread on such opportunistic ground and instead call for bi-partisan unity in the wake of such tragedy. Apparently, the Virginia governor lacks such decency, so there it is…

On Tuesday, Senate Democrats, blinded by their insatiable desire to find anything and everything they can to bring down the presidency of Donald Trump, once again took it upon themselves to slander Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Trying to portray Sessions as a racist supporter of the Ku Klux Klan during his confirmation hearings in February, they have now continued their attack on the former senator from Alabama- first accusing him of colluding with the Russians to interfere with the 2016 Presidential Election and then accusing him of obstructing justice by refusing to answer questions concerning private conversations he had with President Trump about the firing of former FBI Director James Comey…in a word, character assassination. It has been the longstanding policy, going back to the beginnings of our republic, that a president, any president, can “keep his own counsel” from members of his cabinet. If such a policy was not in place, it would severely weaken the presidency and skew the balance of power as enumerated in the Constitution of the United States.

Showing their own sheer hypocrisy, vis-à-vis their silence when Barack Obama’s first Attorney General, Eric Holder, refused to answer questions concerning Operation Fast and Furious (thus becoming the first and only Attorney General to be charged with contempt of Congress) Democrats suddenly voiced outrage concerning Sessions’ refusal to divulge details of private conversations he had with Trump. Democrats continue their reticence to summon Obama’s second Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, for her overt obstruction of justice in interfering with the FBI Investigation into Hillary Clinton’s illegal use of a private server and her felonious destruction of evidence regarding the same. This was evidenced by James Comey’s recent revelation that Lynch had assured members of the Democratic National Committee, in a June 2016 memorandum, that Clinton would never face indictment- well before her secret meeting with Bill Clinton on the weekend before Comey announced his refusal to proceed with a criminal referral against Hillary Clinton. Lynch further obstructed justice by insisting that the FBI investigation be referred to as a “matter” rather than an “investigation” so as to be in lock-step with the Clinton campaign.

So while Senate Democrats take a break from their quest to unseat the president by any means possible, it has become ever clearer that the radical left will stop at nothing to bring down President Trump, either by character assassination of a former colleague (Sessions) or the fabrication of criminal activity on the part of the president.

Failing to show, in order, that the Election of 2016 was rigged by the Russians, that the Russians were in collusion with Donald Trump and his campaign to deny Hillary Clinton the presidency, that Attorney General Jeff Sessions was part of this alleged collusion by participating in secret meetings with Russian officials which did not take place, and that President Trump obstructed justice by firing FBI Director James Comey in May, it begs the question, “What next?”

Assuming that the words of the former House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi ring true- (that she “prays for the success of President Trump,”) the time has come for the end of this nefarious witch hunt, and to get on with the business of a nation who has elected these legislators to serve the will of the people. Furthermore, it should be the purview of all Democrats to condemn the fruits of their own partisan rancor and put a stop to the leftist extremism that is taking place in our country, by living up to the promise of their own service…and they must do so NOW, before such tragic events like the one in Alexandria VA repeat themselves.

“Vengeance is Mine,” sayeth the Leaker

In the same week that a 25-year old Air Force veteran, one Reality Leigh Winner, was arrested for leaking classified documents to a news organization called Intercept, we have now learned that former FBI director James Comey has recently leaked notes from his own private conversation(s) with President Trump, to a Columbia law professor in order to conceal his real intent to leak details of this conversation(s) to the New York Times.

Both Winner and Comey did so for the same reason- to cause damage to and exact revenge upon the presidency of Donald Trump.

Winner, expertized as a translator in three languages and a fervent Bernie Sanders supporter, left behind a long trail of her posts on social media expressing her utter disdain for the president, his election and her intent to join the resist movement by helping to take him down. Winner, who was under the employ of a defense and intelligence contractor, Pluribus International, released classified documents concerning Russian hacks into the manufacturer of election software in the United States, thereby subjecting herself up to ten years in federal prison.

Comey, in his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Oversight Committee, admitted to Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) that he released his notes to the press via a third party, one Professor Daniel Richman of Columbia University’s Law School, so as to conceal the source of the leak to the public. In these notes concerning the conversation he had with the president on February 14^th, 2017, Comey indicated that the president said he “hope(d)” that the FBI Director would see his way to drop the investigation into Michael Flynn, stressing that the recently fired National Security Advisor was a “good guy,” after all. Though the request from the president “deeply bothered” Comey at the time, he decided not to inform his superiors at the Justice Department of any potential attempt to obstruct justice, choosing instead to “keep it in a box” for later use. Essentially, Comey was double-dealing with the president and his Attorney General by denying them access to information he later decided to leak to the press. If this is the “honest loyalty” Comey assured the President he would have, then it is no wonder that, retrospectively, James Comey was fired by the president.

Indicating that he made the decision to release the notes, in the wake of what Comey alleges were lies concerning his firing by President Trump last month, he wanted to get his side of the February 14^th 2017 conversation out. In doing so, Comey knew that it would result in the appointment of a special prosecutor, which was then realized in the appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller. Mueller, incidentally, just happened to be the one-time mentor of James Comey, when Comey worked for him at the Justice Department. It was Mueller who cleared the way for Comey to testify before the senate committee which, on its own face, seems to indicate that the special prosecutor sees no evidence of obstruction of justice on the part of the president.

Comey also revealed that he was directed by former Attorney General Loretta Lynch to refer to the criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private server as a “matter” rather than an “investigation,” using the same language as the Clinton campaign. Regardless, Comey indicated he was forced to announce his decision not to proceed with a criminal referral, when it was revealed that Lynch met secretly with former President Bill Clinton on a tarmac in Arizona, all in an effort “to save the reputation of the FBI.”

So despite the clear violations of law by Hillary Clinton, which he enumerated on July 5^th, 2016, Comey chose not to proceed with a criminal referral. Yet, in the instance of Donald Trump who to date, has broken no law, he is more than happy to see the new president pilloried in the press and persecuted by the senate and a special prosecutor, in separate investigations going on at this time.  Comey knows well that there was no obstruction of justice on the part of the president, and yet he cannot admit it, leaving that to Mueller to determine, instead. This is the same James Comey who so stubbornly refused Trump’s request to state publically that the president was not under any investigation, despite the fact that his notes indicated that he assured the president of this on three separate occasions, between January 6^th and April 15^th of this year.  So quick to exonerate Mrs. Clinton, yet so reticent to clear the name of Donald Trump… such is the subjective service of the now-departed FBI Director, who would purport prevarication on the part of the president…

Two leakers- one, a pathetic pawn of the political left, facing prison time for and of her own making, and another, a disgruntled and disingenuous former FBI Director who takes it upon himself to decide what is, and what is not, a crime according to the dictates of his own personal feelings. Comey also exonerated the Clintons in the Whitewater investigation a quarter-century ago, so whatever Mrs. Clinton wants to lay at the feet of Comey, for her 2016 loss to Donald Trump, the fact of the matter is that he has managed to save her hide twice in twenty-five years.

To think that either Reality Winner or James Comey is a patriot, for having leaked classified (Winner) and confidential (Comey) information to the media, is to delude oneself to the proposition that it’s okay to bring down a duly-elected president, based upon one’s own personal disdain rather than a larger patriotic pursuit. These two are but a few of the hundreds of leakers, both high and low, that threaten not only a president but, in the end, the nation he was elected to serve. Continued unchecked, those who would continue to leak- illegally or not- will only result in national disaster and personal destruction, which serves not the nation but rather their own selfish vengeance, when all is finally said and done.

The Lonely Road Less Taken- Trump Withdraws from Paris Accord

On Thursday afternoon, President Donald Trump fulfilled yet another of the many promises he made during his 2016 presidential campaign, by formally withdrawing the United States from the 2015 Paris Agreement, an agreement within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Drafted at the close of 2015 and signed by Barack Obama’s Secretary of State John Kerry in April of 2016 the Paris Agreement, which had no congressional approval by the way, was put into force four days before the election that swept Donald Trump into office, on November 8^th, 2016. Effectively, the agreement committed the United States to paying $ 100 billion per year into a fund that would purportedly finance green-energy development in emerging nations, and lead towards a global regulatory commission that would determine which sources of energy would be permissible to pursue. In other words, it would cede the power of permit away from the sovereignty of the United States, and onto an international body answerable to no one.

That the Obama Administration would so actively pursue such an agreement, was part and parcel of their mindset to diminish the economic prowess of the United States and socialize our national wealth across the globe. Predictably, Obama had the support of most all of the world’s nations to sign onto the agreement, including China and India (the world’s worst polluters of greenhouse gasses) whose own participation in the provisions of the agreement were conveniently delayed until 2030. Leave it to the rest of the world’s governments to be so generous with the wealth of the United States, whose taxpayers are already footing the bill for most of the international security in Europe and East Asia. Comparatively speaking, the financial burden of the Paris Agreement on those nations is minimal, once again attesting to an international community more interested in socializing American wealth that reducing global temperatures.

Because the United States is so heavily dependent upon coal and other fossil fuels for its energy needs, the associated taxes pursuant to the agreement would have landed most heavily upon American consumers, whose electrical bills would increase by $ 21,000 per year by the middle of the next decade- yet another financial burden not shared by our European counterparts.

Recognizing how foolish the Obama administration was to sign such an agreement, and understanding the blatant unfairness to U.S interests inherent in the Paris agreement, Donald Trump campaigned for his office vowing to withdraw from it entirely. When the leaders of France, Germany and the United Kingdom scoffed at Trump’s request to re-negotiate the terms of the agreement to be more equitable to the United States, he had no choice but to follow through on his campaign promise.

The reaction to Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris Agreement was equally predictable, with Democrats and their collusive allies in the mainstream media sounding apocalyptic warnings that the decision would lead towards catastrophic rises in sea levels and temperatures, not to mention Kerry’s assertion that our children with asthma would suffer ever more so, as a direct result of Trump’s decision. Globalists abounding within the ranks of anti-Trump Republicans bemoaned the loss of American leadership in all things climate, despite the fact that Americans have done more to actually reduce carbon-based emissions than other nations- and this was done without any international agreement, to boot. The learned classes of political correctness, fully steeped in what has become a veritable religion of man-made climate change, were quick to assail the folly of Trump’s decision.

Ironically, had Trump decided not to withdraw from the Paris agreement, all of these same forces would have derided the president for not living up to the promises he made during the campaign. In essence, Trump was once again placed into a stacked game of political hypocrisy where he cannot possibly win, regardless of what he does.

Leadership, true leadership, often requires the kind of courage that entails a journey along a lonely road, a road less taken by the weak and unwise. The lonely road on which President Trump has ventured, in his decision to withdraw from the Paris agreement, is not unlike countless other instances where he has sought not the approval of the world, but rather the salvation of the nation which elected him into office. Donald Trump may never be as globally popular as Barack Obama or either of the Clintons, but in serving the interests of the American people and in putting the welfare of our citizens first and foremost, he may well prove to be one of the greatest leaders this country ever knew, and one of the greatest presidents in the history of the United States.
